Student Software Remote Access - Chromebook

Supplies instructions on installing the Horizon Client on Chromebook device and accessing an OCC virtual desktop. This will give registered students remote access to applications (software) needed for their course work.

 

1. Click Play Store
   
   
    
2. Search VMWare Horizon Client
   
   
    
3. Click Install the VMware Horizon Client
   
   
    
4. After the app has installed Click Open
   
   
    
5. Click OK
   
   
    
6. Click Allow
   
   
    
7. Click Allow
   
   
    
8. Click Setting icon
   
   
    
9. Click Security Options
   
   
    
10. Click Security Mode
    
    
     
11. Check the radio button for Do not verify server identity certificates
    Click OK
    
    
     
12. For Server Name or Address type apps.oaklandcc.edu
    Click Connect
    
    
     
13. Click Accept
    
    
     
14. Type in your OCC User name and Password
    Click Login
    
    
     
15. The Horizon Client will show all the VDI machines and applications that you have rights to use
    Select the VDI machine to start the Virtual Machine
    
    
     
16. While running the Virtual Machine click on the sidebar icon
    
    
     
17. This is the Horizon Client Menu Bar – To disconnect from the Virtual Machine Click the plug icon
    
    
     
18. Click Disconnect to end the session with the virtual machine
