This document will guide you through resetting your OCC account password using Okta if the password is known. This method can be done and does not require a connection to the OCC network. If any of the below steps do not work:
For students, please call the Student Technical Help Desk at 248-341-2300.
For staff, please call your Support Center
- Access the Okta Dashboard by going to https://oaklandcc.okta.com in a supported web browser Enter your OCC username and click Next
- Depending on your location and behavior, you may be prompted for just a password or you may be prompted for your strong authentication factor such as Okta Verify push or code, SMS code, or phone call.
- Once in the dashboard, click on your name in the top right corner and select Settings
- If you did not have to strong authenticate in step 2 above, click the green Edit Profile box in the upper right of the window. This will prompt you with your strong authentication method such as Okta Verify Push or code, SMS, or phone call.
- If you had to strong authenticate in step 2 above, you will see the change password box in the upper right of the window.
Enter your current password then your new password in the new password and confirm boxes.
Note: If you believe your account password has been compromised, select the Sign me out of other devices checkbox to secure your account from unauthorized use. When done, click on the Change Password box. Your password is now reset and you will be able to log in with your new password going forward
