Unsubscribing from D2L Notifications

While the D2L Notifications tool can be useful, some users may not want to receive emails and/or text messages for every change and announcement in their courses. This document is intended to assist users in disabling those emails and/or text messages

Overview

The D2L Notifications tool allows users to receive updates about course activity through email or text messages. Some users may prefer to reduce or disable these notifications.

This article explains how to manage or turn off notifications in D2L.

Disable All Notifications

1. Select your name in the top-right corner of D2L.
2. Select Notifications.
3. Clear (uncheck) all selected notification options.
4. Set Summary of Activity to Never.
5. If a phone number or email is listed, select the Delete (trash can) icon next to it.
6. Select Save.

Disable Phone (SMS) Notifications

1. Select your name in the top-right corner of D2L.
2. Select Notifications.
3. Clear all options in the SMS column.
4. Select the Delete (trash can) icon next to your phone number.
5. Confirm the removal when prompted.
6. Select Save.

Disable Email Notifications

1. Select your name in the top-right corner of D2L.
2. Select Notifications.
3. Clear all options in the Email column.
4. Select Save.

Disable Notifications for a Specific Course

1. Select your name in the top-right corner of D2L.
2. Select Notifications.
3. Select Manage my course exclusions.
4. Enter the course name in the Search course name field.
5. Select Search.
6. Select the Remove (X icon) next to the course.
7. Select Close, then Save.

Disable Notifications for Specific Tools

1. Select your name in the top-right corner of D2L.
2. Select Notifications.
3. Clear the options for tools (such as Announcements or Assignments) you no longer want notifications from.
4. Select Save.

Disable Daily Summary Emails

1. Select your name in the top-right corner of D2L.
2. Select Notifications.
3. Set the How often? option to Never.
4. Select Save.
