Overview
This article provides instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling the Honorlock Chrome extension. Reinstalling the extension can help resolve technical issues and ensure the best possible experience when using Honorlock for online proctoring.
Note: Due to updates released in May 2020, Honorlock recommends uninstalling and reinstalling the Honorlock Chrome extension to ensure the best experience.
Uninstall the Honorlock Extension
- Open the Google Chrome browser.
- Locate the Honorlock extension icon (a shield with a check mark) in the top-right corner.
- Right-click the Honorlock icon.
- Select Remove from Chrome.
If the Honorlock icon is not visible, check your Chrome extensions:
- Select the Extensions (puzzle piece) icon in Chrome.
- Locate the Honorlock extension in the list.
- Select the menu (three vertical dots) next to the extension.
- Select Remove from Chrome.
If you do not see the Honorlock extension, visit the Honorlock extension check page (opens in new tab). If it is not installed, you will be prompted to install it.
Install the Honorlock Extension
- Navigate to the Honorlock Chrome Extension page (opens in new tab).
- Review and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Select Add Extension.
- A new tab will open to the Chrome Web Store.
- Select Add to Chrome.
- A confirmation dialog will appear.
- Select Add Extension to confirm.
After installation, the Honorlock extension icon will appear in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser.
