Restricted File Types

Overview

D2L restricts certain file types from being uploaded for security reasons and to help ensure the system functions as expected.

Restricted File Types

For the most up-to-date list of restricted file types, review D2L Restricted MIME Types list (opens in new tab).

Workaround

In some circumstances, an instructor may require a student to submit a file type that appears on D2L's restricted file type list. In these situations, contact your instructor for recommendations or alternative submission methods.
