Joining a Zoom Meeting

Overview

Users can join Zoom meetings by clicking on the web link or by selecting Join a Meeting and entering the meeting ID on the OCC Zoom web page.

Join Zoom Meeting Using the Web Link

In the Zoom meeting invitation email, or where ever else the link is posted (including a D2L page, email message, etc.), click on the meeting link (URL).
Note: If this is your first Zoom meeting on a particular computer, you will be prompted to download the Zoom plugin.

Some Zoom meetings will prompt the user to Enter meeting passcode, the passcode will be located within the Zoom meeting invitation. Within the Zoom meeting invitation the passcode will be denoted as Password.

Join a Zoom Meeting with a Meeting ID

  1. In the Zoom meeting invitation email, or where posted on a web page (including D2L), copy the meeting ID.
     
  2. Go to the OCC Zoom web page.
     

Click Join a Meeting from the website menu at the top of the screen.

  1. Type the Meeting ID into the text box.
     

Click Join to launch the meeting and follow the browser prompts.
