Software Remote Access – Student Chromebook

Omnissa provides users a secure, encrypted connection for remote access to virtual desktops and applications from various devices. These steps will connect you to your virtual desktop through workspace.oaklandcc.edu.

**NOTE** OCC Virtual Desktop sessions are refreshed at logoff/disconnect and any files saved locally will be lost. OCC recommends saving all files either to your Google Drive or to a flash drive, not the OCC virtual desktop.

  1. Open a web browser on a computer and go to workspace.oaklandcc.edu
     
  2. Click Omnissa Horizon Web Client
    ""
     
  3. Enter in your OCC username
    Your OCC username is before the @ symbol in your email address
    Click Next
    ""
     
  4. Verify with Okta multi-factor authentication method and enter your OCC password.
    Click Verify
    ""
     
  5. Click the three dots under your pool selection (OCC Student, CIS, CAD) and select Launch from Chrome Client.
    ""

    Note: If the client is not installed on your device, please follow the instructions to install the client.

Installing Omnissa Horizon Client

  1. Open a web browser on a computer and go to workspace.oaklandcc.edu

  2. Click Install Omnissa Horizon Client
    ""
     
  3. Click Add to Chrome
    ""
     
  4. Click Add app
    ""

    You should now be able to launch the Omnissa Horizon from the Chrome Client
